ENGINEERING EXPERTS BUILD BUSINESS UNDER NEW NAME
SC Consulting Engineers, formerly known as Simpson Coulson and Lees, is building on 46 years’ worth of experience working on major construction projects in the North East. The Billingham-based firm was originally created by former ICI engineers Dick Simpson and Bob Coulson in 1965 to work with the fledgling petrochemical industry on Teesside. John Lees originally bought the company in 2002 and is once again the sole owner of the business. The company is going back to its roots to concentrate on civil, structural and marine projects after the company restructured in March. Owner and Managing Director John Lees said: “Since the company reorganised in March we’ve been picking up new orders every week. We urgently need more engineers, designers/CAD operators and graduates/trainees to meet this demand. “It’s business as usual for us.
